Why
Didn’t The Mainstream Media Call Him Out On This?
This week, in justifying
his gun control measures, President Joe Biden made this statement:
“From the very beginning the Second Amendment existed, certain people weren’t allowed to have weapons,” Biden argued. “So the idea is just bizarre to suggest that some of the things we’re recommending are contrary to the Constitution. Gun violence in this country is an epidemic.”
Just who were these people who were not allowed to have guns?
Answer: Slaves and Free Blacks!
Don’t believe me? Well, you can find this info in The Atlantic, on the Princeton University Website, and on The Volokh Conspiracy website.
This should surprise no one, as gun control has always been racist.
No Guns For Negros documents the long history of racist gun control
Looking back further at the laws Joe Biden cites in support of gun control, under Jim Crow, a variety of laws restricted gun ownership by Black people. Funny how Joe didn’t mention this….
Gun control is now, and always has been racist. Just who will Joe Biden’s gun control laws be enforced against? If history is any guide, it will be poor minorities in the inner city – who will be sent to prison for the non-violent crime of possessing or carrying a firearm for self defense.
Now gun control advocates are smart, they hide their racism. As little as 35 years ago, this was not the case. When California established it’s roster of approved handguns, supporters of the law were crystal clear as to the goal: To price poor inner city minorities out of the handgun market. That’s why the law effectively bans the sale of used handguns. If a middle class white person wants to jump through all the hoops and pay over $500.00 – they can have a handgun. Few inner city minorities, mostly blacks and Latinos, can afford to do so.
Frankly, I’m not at all surprised by this. Joe Biden is the man who opposed busing (and was called out on it by his now V.P.) and authored the now infamous 1994 crime bill that put tens of thousands of young black men in federal prison. There is nothing inconsistent about Joe Biden using racism to justify gun control.
